Maybelline Color Show Lipstick Red My Lips, 202

Maybelline Color Show Lipstick, Red My Lips, 202

Maybelline had launched a really affodable range "Color Show" consisting of a variety of lip colours and nail colours. The Lip range consists of 32 moisturizing lip colours with  a great variety of colours from Browns to Reds to Pinks to Mauves. I have reviewed the Fuschia Fantasy shade already from this range. I will link the review to Fuschia Fantasy below. Now in this article we will be talking abt their cool toned red shade,"Red My Lips".

First the packaging is quite ordinary like any other normal lipstick with a black body and a black cap ad the genre of the shade rimmed in the middle. For example, Fuschia Fantasy had a pink rim while Red My lips has a red rim as you can see from the picture. The upper part of the body under the cap is silver or steele however one may put it. you get 3.9gm of the product which is a terrific deal considering how inexpensive the Lip Colour is. It is creamy but still the stick is hard enough to hold onto itself and not melt in the heat. You can travel perfectly with it as the cap sets perfectly and it does not have any spilling or other tendencies.

Now coming to the shade it is an insanely pigmented cool toned red which give opaque coverage to very pigmented lips also in a single swipe. It will suit all skin tones from white skin to fair or wheatish skin to the lovely duskies. It is very creamy in texture and moisturising but unlink the Fuschia Fantasy this shade does not bleed. Also it tranfers a lot less compared to Fuschia Fantasy. This is hands down one of the best coverage drugstore lipsticks i have come across. It gives a creme finish perfect for the winter time and party season. It does transfer a bit while eating and drinking but leaves a lovely red stain and fades uniformly on the lips . It last for about 5-6 hours perfectly and the stain has to be removed using makeup removers or baby oils to remove it completely from the lips.

You can also slightly dab it and blot it with a blotting paper and set with translucent powder and last an entire day with a lovely stain or wear it to work without making it too bold. All in all I am in love with the payoff the lipstick gives for its price.

PROS

  • Amazing opaque coverage in just a single swipe
  • A very cool toned red for all skin tones
  • Very moisturizing
  • Does not bleed
CONS
  • It is not transfer-proof
  • The stain is a lil hard to completely remove from the lips
  • Availability outside India
PRICE

It retails in shops for 300 INR or 4.53 USD or 3 GBP

Maybelline Color Show Lipstick, Fuschia Fantasy

Maybelline Color Show Lipstick, Fuschia Fantasy

Maybelline  has a series of affordable Lipsticks which fall under the Color Show range. It has a wide variety of shade selection with 32 Lip Colours covering from Browns to Reds to Pinks to Mauves.

Fuschia Fantasy is I guess one of the most raved about Lip shade of this range. As the name suggests it is a blue toned dark pink which is insanely pigmented and will give an opaque coverage to even hugely pigmented lips. Though personally I am not a fan of fuschias or blue based pinks still as you might make out i used up this one quite a bit.

You get 3.9 gm of the product which is seriously worth the buy considering how inexpensive these are.

Packaging is normal like that of any other Lipstick with the genre or colour rim in the middle.
For e.g. the fuschia one has a pink rim.
I have travelled with it in hot humid summer with temperature outside almost 42 degrees and the lipstick did not seem to melt at all which I feared so that was a relief.

It has thae pop of colour needed to make you look fresh and ready to roll. This can be a great spring time colour with a single layer for people who love fuschias and barbie pinks. You can also layer the product up to an insanely dark plummy winter colour based upon your choice.

The Lip Swatches are :

The lipcolour tends to bleed a bit so I recommend using a lip liner or lip primer and using it a little carefully around the edges of the lips .
In the second picture without flash I layered up the lip colour 2-3 times to bring out the dark plummy effect of the autumns. Though the best way to wear these according to me is dab it matte with a blotting paper and set it with translucent powder and wear it as a light stain.

It is not tranferproof and transfers while eating or drinking but leaves a lovely uniform stain on the lips whivh last for a long 5-6 hours easily.

The stick is very creamy and I recommend that you store it in a cool place (not refridgerator) and not near the kitchen or stove as it can melt.

PROS
  • Insanely opaque pigmentation
  • Can be layered up to have really dark plummy lips or worn as a pop of spring colour
  • Very creamy and moisturizing in texture
  • Leaves a uniform stain
  • Lasts 5-6 hours

CONS
  • Tends to bleed
  • Transfers a lot
  • For the too creamy texture of the stick lots of product tend to get used up if applied directly holding the stick.
  • Availability outside India

Maybelline NewYork The Nudes Eyeshadow Palette Review

New Maybelline NewYork The Nudes Eyeshadow Palette

Hello Everyone,

Merry Christmas to all and with holidays going on and endless parties we are all prepping up for amazing makeup looks with different eye looks. To help us in this affair Maybelline New York launched their new eyeshadow palette series consisting on four palettes till date,The Nudes,The Smokes, The Blushed Nudes,The Brights.

Each palette consists of 12 shades which are a mixture of mattes and shimmers.

In this article we will be talking about their first launched palette of the series, The Nudes.

When I got to know about this amazing launch I could not wait to get my hands on them . First time Maybelline has launched something like this with12 shades and it is amazing.
First and foremost the packaging. It is sleek sturdy and for a person who is unorganized and clumsy like I am dropping things, shoving all makeup in a pile in a corner makeup kits usually get destroyed pretty soon . But not this one, I have dropped it quite a few times (by accident of course) and it was intact without a scratch . The only bad thing about this is the lack of a mirror. I love how the Makeup Revolution London Palettes come with a huge clear mirror attached (some, not all) and I was genuinely missing a mirror in this one.

If you are a person who travels a lot the kit is sturdy enough to survive any journey but the downside is you need to carry a mirror with it . Then again we all carry compacts and all which come with mirrors already so it shouldn't be that much of a problem. :)

The backside of the pallete contains it's unique serial code like I have in "50M61M" along a very useful how to use shade guide. The colours of the pallete are arranged in such a way that if you consider every quad or every trio or every duo they are enough to give you an amazing look and how will you position the colours on your eye that is also mentioned. So it is a big big thumps up if you are a beginner or getting started with makeup and eyeshadows :)

Now, coming to the pigmentation I can swear that you won't regret buying a this at all. It is amazingly pigmented be it shimmery or matte and if you want a extra bold pop of colour with this the trick is spray Makeup Fining Spray ( or Rosewater in a spray bottle also works fine ) before picking up the product with your brush.

The swatches are below :)

(With Yellow Flash)

4- A matter brown shade. An amazing crease colour or for darkening the outer corner for more definition

9- A greyish taupe matte shade which is really rare to come across in drugstore palletes.

10- A dark greyish brown shade. Amazing for a brown smokey eye look.

11- A white champagne highlight shade.

12- This is my most favourite. A matte charcoal black shade. It can be worn as a light shadow black shade or layered to a intense matte black .

  • Guidance of how different looks can be achiever is given at the back of the palette
  • Mixture of mattes and shimmer in the same palette
  • Amazing highlights and a charcoal matte black shade present which is difficult to come across in palettes
  • The best part is that this palette is super affordable and fully worth it's price.
CONS
  • A mirror missing in the packaging which would have been helpful
  • Like most other eyeshadow palettes this one also comes with a small applicator, though unique and percil shaped still not at all useful to work with
